The business need
Worldpay has a unique acquiring relationship with more than 130 airlines. It allows them to offer transparency while ensuring that both airlines and travel agents maximize the value of virtual card payments.
However, payments in the travel sector can present significant complexity. Global suppliers require payments across different currencies and payment schemes, which complicates the reconciliation process. Ideally, all supplier payments would be executed via one channel to minimize administration and simplify reconciliation.
Our vast experience in managing large-scale card issuance programs and ability to support more than 20 channels put us in the perfect position to support Worldpay on their journey to a more streamlined system.
The solution
Leveraging our Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license in the UK and Europe alongside our principal membership with Mastercard, we provided Worldpay with full BIN Sponsorship.
The solution enables them to run their card programs without needing to obtain regulatory and scheme designations themselves.
We also provide bank accounts for card loads in 16 currencies by connecting our Payment Gateway, allowing Worldpay customers to top up their card balances seamlessly.
